Karl Wenzel, CFSP

Karl was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario Canada. After graduating college and a brief career law enforcement Karl enrolled in mortuary school at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham Alabama.  Karl earned his degree in mortuary Science in 1997 and settled in Tennessee to start his career serving families in the most difficult of times.

In 2000 Karl and his family moved back to Canada to continue his mortuary career. 

​

He is a graduate of Fountain National Academy of Professional Embalming Skills. Karl is also a member the Board of Directors of the FNA Embalming Scholarship Fund is the Academy's Canadian Ambassador. Karl is also the Canadian Ambassador for the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. Karl received the Distinguished Professional Service award, and was an examiner for the Ontario Board of Funeral Services. He has held licenses in Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Alberta and Tennessee.

Karl worked as the Manager of Decedent Care and Preparational Development for Arbor Memorial, Canada's largest independent conglomerate provider of funeral services. He traveled extensively to transform difficult trauma and hospital cases that would otherwise be un-viewable to allow families a final viewing. 

​

In 2013 Karl became The Dodge Company’s Coordinator of Technical Education and Training.  He provided technical programming and education for Dodge sales staff and associations world wide. Karl traveled across the globe to present embalming education in both lecture and hands-on training.  Beyond the technical skills, Karl inspires everyone in the audience to believe they are capable of doing everything he can do with practice and self-confidence!

Karl is the Regional Team Coordinator for the Kenyon International Emergency Response assisting Kenyon in recruitment and emergency response. Karl has been deployed in areas including the Haiti 2010 Earthquake Disaster Team and the Bagram, Afghanistan April 2013 National Airlines Cargo 747 (flight #102)  plane crash.

Karl founded the Canadian School of Advanced PREP with the goal to educate and share his experience and skills with embalmers across the world, to allow everyone the opportunity to grow within themselves professionally through continued education.

​

Along with CSAP Karl actively embalms and assists funeral homes. 

​

Personally, Karl is all about family and friends.  Along with long walks in the rain, he enjoys fishing with his buddies and relaxing by the lake with his wife Vicki and two children Kurtis and Lauren and his best furry buddy Odie the boxer.
